I could really use a bit more space these days! My husband is teaching virtual High School English in our bedroom, my 17 yr old is working on his Junior year in his shared bedroom and his brother is in the basement. Our 5th grader is sitting on a stool in her TINY room with a computer on her bureau and I am here in the dining room, madly working on a new project.
So, not sure if you heard but there is a pretty serious Pandemic going on and therefore, the music and theatre business is…gone! I, along with so many of my fellow performing artists are out of work and trying to salvage their careers, finances and creativity. I am grateful that my husband has a stable career and I don’t have to fear that I will be homeless. Extra glad I started this little Etsy shop,

I think so many people are home staring at their 4 walls and thinking, “I need something to brighten this place up!” The things I sell in my shop are not expensive but I think they are special. Most of us can’t afford a new couch right now, but many of us can scrape together 15 bucks for a pair of special cocktail glasses or a copper vase. Just a little pretty thing to change things up a bit! https://www.etsy.com/shop/tinybirdvintagehome
I always have to be doing something creative- I just do! So I started making these pumpkins, not knowing if I would even try to sell them. The first ones were simple with a few pieces of decoration. I quickly expanded and now, I am pumpkin making 12 hours a day here in my crowded dining room to keep up with the orders! I am excited, busy and grateful. I have sold over 100 (easily!) and I was just featured on the local news! A very swanky interior designer ordered 17 as gifts for her clients and so many people have bought sets of 3 and come back for another! I am only limited by the supply of craft pumpkins and the realities of time!
Some of my pumpkins and other things are listed on my new Etsy shop- more to follow!

So, the world has gone mad and it is easy to feel hopeless and helpless.
Sometimes, the things I do- singing, dancing, decorating, making dinner, etc., seem inconsequential and small but, you know, I still believe that in the midst of it all, I HAVE to look for the beauty. If I am having trouble finding it, then, darn it, I make it myself.
Now I just need one more room!
So excited to have received my pumpkin. It is beautiful. Packed so carefully. I am so happy to be able to support a local artist. Will there be Christmas items? I would love to be able to give as gifts!
Hi Traci- Yes! I already have some Christmas things and I have plans for more. THANK YOU so much!
Love, Deirdre
